Video: Armed Robbery at Yerevan Mall
On August 31, 2021, at approximately 10:18 AM, an individual committed an apparent crime with the intent of stealing a large sum of money through armed robbery. The suspect entered a branch of one of Armenia's banks located in the Yerevan Mall on Arshakunyats Avenue and threatened the bank employee with a 9mm gas pistol, model 'BLOW MAGNUM', endangering their life and health, while demanding money.
The suspect fled with a significant amount of 102,000,000 AMD. According to the Investigative Committee, to evade apprehension by security personnel, the suspect fired a shot within the shopping center and, after exiting the premises, was neutralized and apprehended by the Shengavit Division of the Republic of Armenia Police.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Shengavit Administrative District's investigative division of the Yerevan investigative administration under Article 175, Part 3, Clause 1 of the RA Criminal Code. The perpetrator has been arrested. More than ten individuals have been questioned, and forensic examinations and video recordings from surveillance cameras have been collected. The investigation is ongoing.
