Shopkeeper Stabs 44-Year-Old Man in the Back
On the night of August 28, a citizen called the Gegharkunik Regional Department of Police, reporting that a dispute and stabbing had occurred near a gas station in the village of Sotk. An operational team from the Vardenis Division of Police was dispatched to the scene.
According to police reports, as a result of operational-investigative measures conducted by criminal investigators, it was revealed that on August 27, around 21:30, a dispute arose over domestic issues between a local resident, a 44-year-old man, and a 56-year-old shopkeeper from Sotk near the gas station on Central Highway. Ultimately, the shopkeeper stabbed the 44-year-old man in the back.
In the morning, the assailant was taken to the police station and gave a confession. However, the matter did not end there. The shopkeeper also filed a complaint, stating that during the dispute, the 44-year-old man struck his chest with a shovel, causing injury, after which he took a knife from his car and stabbed him.
Forensic examinations have been ordered, and the circumstances are being clarified.
