Families of the Missing Persons Shamed MPs: 'Hayrapet' Newspaper
According to the newspaper 'Hayrapet', families of missing persons attempted to get answers during a recent National Assembly meeting regarding when their children's issues would be resolved.
The President of the National Assembly admitted that no one has an answer to that question and that efforts are being made to find a resolution. The family members expressed their shame towards the MPs, stating that there are numerous problems in the country since the war, while the representatives were busy with brawls. They also accused the authorities, asking how "normal men can attack one person with fifteen others."
Few of the 'Ktrich' members attended the discussion, and Alen Simonian, who led the meeting, managed to save the face of the government. Another individual accused the authorities of falsifying data related to victims and missing persons, suggesting they were putting a soft pillow under the heads of the families.
The Director of the Forensic Medical Center, Mher Bisharyan, was also present. When informed that the center had confirmed via a phone conversation that the remains of one of the missing persons were with them, but days later it became known that the person was actually in captivity, Bisharyan was left speechless, causing frustration among his superiors.
The meeting also included Deputy Minister of Defense Arman Sargsyan, representatives from the National Security Service, and social protection officials.
