What is Planned in Russia for Migrants

The Tripartite Commission for the Regulation of Social Labor Relations in Russia has today supported amendments to the law on "Compulsory Pension Insurance System for Individual Accounts." This was reported by the office of Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.

The document was developed within the framework of implementing the concept of the Russian state migration policy for the years 2019-2025.

"Its adoption will facilitate the process for foreign citizens to obtain a personal insurance account number, which in turn will simplify the process of finding employment in Russia," the statement reads.

Thus, part of the necessary migration procedures for working in Russia will be provided to foreign citizens before their entry into the country.

Foreign citizens and stateless persons must register in the "Unified System for Identification and Authentication in Infrastructure, which ensures the informational and technological interaction of the information systems used for the provision of public and municipal services electronically." This will allow them to submit applications to the Russian pension fund for opening an individual personal account after crossing the Russian border.

As a result, foreign citizens and stateless persons will be able to obtain an individual personal account after crossing the Russian state border, which will simplify and expedite the process of finding work in the country and will help reduce illegal employment.

These amendments are expected to come into effect from January 1, 2022.
