Armenia Wins 4 Medals at Youth European Championships

In the Youth European Weightlifting Championships held in Poland, Armenia secured 4 medals. Rafiq Minasian from Gyumri lifted 114 kg in the snatch and 144 kg in the clean and jerk, achieving a combined total of 258 kg to take first place in the 61 kg weight category, as reported by the Armenian National Olympic Committee's press service.

Meruzhan Yeghoyan, also from Gyumri, took second place in the 55 kg category with a total of 216 kg (97 kg + 119 kg).

The third prize was awarded to heavyweight Albert Tumasyan from Yerevan, who achieved a total of 321 kg (147 kg + 175 kg).

The team also finished in third place overall.

Among the girls, Emma Poghosyan from Gyumri won a silver medal in the 81 kg category with a combined total of 196 kg (83 kg + 113 kg). She also set a record for European girls under 15 years old.
