The Current Government Holds Full Responsibility for Possible Disasters: Statement by the 'Armenia' and 'I Have Honor' Alliances
A joint statement has been released by the 'Armenia' and 'I Have Honor' alliances. The complete text of the statement is provided below.
“From August 24 to 26, the National Assembly discussed and the ruling party approved the government's so-called program, which contained no practical solutions to existing extreme challenges and, furthermore, included serious risks. During the discussions, several issues concerning the public were raised, to which the responses were, for the most part, characteristic of the authorities—false, manipulative, or evasive answers.
Moreover, on August 25, premeditated acts of direct hooliganism, legally prosecutable offenses were committed against opposition faction members by the ruling group, specifically with the division of roles among attackers. We emphasize that the failure to prevent these acts was intentionally delayed by the competent authorities. This act occurred during the exchange of ideas with the aim of once again solidifying an authoritarian regime, even within the parliament.
In reviewing the statement released by the Prosecutor General's Office, we note that, as in previous cases, there are no coercive measures against any representative of the ruling group to date. It is appropriate to recall that in the document that serves as the governmental program, it is literally mentioned that the courts, the prosecution, and investigative bodies must 'ensure the implementation of the government’s mandate received from the people,' in other words, the elimination of the independence of law enforcement agencies is a programmatic provision.
We record that the entire responsibility for the current disgraceful state of the interstate road in Syunik, the arrogant legally prosecutable acts that occurred in the National Assembly, and possible disasters rests entirely with this government, led by Nikol Pashinyan.”
