More than 10 individuals attacked a sleeping citizen in Yerevan: A criminal case has been initiated solely on hooliganism grounds

According to Shamshyan.com, a criminal case has been initiated by the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan city investigative department under the characteristics of part 2 of Article 258 of the RA Criminal Code. As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, this criminal case was opened following a brawl and fight that took place on August 19 in Yerevan.

As a result of operational-investigative measures, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nor Nork Police have detained two residents of Masis: 21-year-old Arman B. and 22-year-old Edgar G. as suspects in connection to the incident. They were presented to the investigative division of the Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts.

According to G. Shamshyan, two more individuals have also been presented to the investigative department, but the police have not yet been able to locate the Lexus vehicle used by the perpetrators to flee the scene. The victim, who was asleep during the attack, faced assault from about 10 individuals who ambushed him, and it is not excluded that the circumstances may be requalified during the investigation to initiate a criminal case under another article.

Earlier, it was reported that materials were being prepared in the investigative department of the Nor Nork Police concerning the brawl that took place on August 19. On that day, around 8:00 PM, the operational management center of the Yerevan Police received a report about a dispute between a group of individuals near a speed measuring device on Davit Bek Street that escalated into a fight.

Shortly after, the Nor Nork Police received a call from the Erebuni medical center indicating that a citizen had been admitted with a ‘torn wound to the top of the head and neck area’. The operational group of the Nor Nork Police learned that the individual admitted to the hospital was 38-year-old Roman Jndoyan, a resident of Yerevan, who had been transported from the site of the fight.

The officers of the Criminal Investigation Department had received information that a confrontation had occurred between Roman Jndoyan and unknown passengers of a Lexus vehicle at the site of the argument, resulting in his injuries.
