Security Staff Threaten NEWS.am Operator and Delete Fight Video from Parliament Session

On August 23, security personnel demanded that a NEWS.am operator delete footage of a fight that occurred in the National Assembly's session hall. Following a heated altercation between ruling and opposition parliamentarians, media representatives, including the NEWS.am operator, approached the entrance of the hall. When the operator noticed the door was open, he entered the chamber to record the incident.

During this time, the head of the 'Civil Contract' faction, Hayk Konjoryan, pointed out the operator to security staff, instructing them to seize the operator's phone and delete the videos. The security personnel took the phone and deleted the footage of the incident. Furthermore, they threatened that if the fight video were to be made public, the NEWS.am operator would lose his accreditation from the National Assembly.
