Poisoning Incident in Armavir: 9 People Hospitalized

On August 11, an emergency incident occurred in the Armavir region. At approximately 23:30, the Armavir Medical Center contacted the Armavir police department to report that several citizens had been admitted with a diagnosis of "gastrointestinal infection of unknown etiology."

The police and investigators found that the hospitalized individuals included 42-year-old Rouzan Makaryan, 85-year-old Shokik Asatryan, 75-year-old Frida Arakelyan, 21-year-old Anushik Baroyan, 30-year-old Marine Khachatryan, 26-year-old Hovhannes Khachatryan, 24-year-old Gevorg Muradyan, 46-year-old Vard Tepeyanosyan, and 42-year-old Mkrtych Barseghyan.

The patients reported to doctors, followed by the arriving police and investigators, that they had been poisoned by water.

Materials are being prepared for further investigation. A series of examinations have been assigned.
