Video: Russian Soldiers Set Up Checkpoint in Border Village of Voskepar, State Authorities Remain Silent
In the border village of Voskepar in the Tavush province, Russian soldiers have established a checkpoint and are setting up tents along the Armenian-Georgian interstate road section in Voskepar. This information was reported to Hetq by a local resident who wished to remain anonymous.
Tavush Governor Hayk Ghahramanyan stated in an interview with Hetq that the Russian servicemen are conducting monitoring related to the border demarcation. When asked about the reasons for the presence of Russian soldiers in Voskepar, Ghahramanyan responded, “They have the right.” In reply to a clarifying question regarding what right the Russian soldiers have to be there and what decisions they are making, the governor did not respond and hung up the phone.
