Major Fire in Yerevan
On August 5, a major fire broke out in Yerevan. At approximately 1:35 PM, the Ministry of Emergency Situations' Rescue Service received a call at its 911 operational management center, reporting that a grassy area near a furniture workshop at 5/6 Ayvazovsky Street in the Erebuni administrative district was on fire, posing a risk of spreading to the workshop.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, before firefighters from Yerevan's third, eighth, and first fire-rescue teams arrived, the staff of the workshop managed to prevent the spread of the flames and, together with the arriving firefighters, extinguished the fire.
Thanks to the efforts of both the firefighters and the workshop employees, the spread and extinguishing of the fire were completed in a short period of time. According to preliminary reports, no injuries were sustained due to the fire. However, the workshop's roof sustained damage, with a significant portion turning to ash.
The cause of the fire will be determined after several investigations are conducted.
