Armenian Citizen Sent Ukrainian Women to Greece for Sexual Exploitation
Law enforcement in Ukraine has detained an Armenian citizen who was recruiting Ukrainian women to provide sexual services in Greece. He promised high wages of up to $50 per hour for their work. This was reported by Korrespondent.net, citing the press service of the Donetsk region's prosecutor's office.
“The investigation revealed that in 2021, the man organized a 'business' for the illegal trafficking of Ukrainian citizens abroad. The offender sought young women aged 20 to 30 across various regions of the country and, knowing their difficult financial situations, persuaded them about the feasibility and profitability of prostitution in Greece's capital, Athens,” the statement said.
The 38-year-old Armenian citizen assured that the girls would be provided with “decent” conditions, free choice of clients, and high pay of up to $50 for one hour of sexual services. He also promised that the Ukrainian women could return to their homeland at any time.
All expenses were paid by Greek clients. The man personally transported the Ukrainian women to the “buyers” when necessary.
The Armenian was arrested in Kyiv while accompanying students he had recruited from Mariupol. A decision is currently being made regarding the measure of restraint for the suspect.
