Vehicles Skid Off Yerevan-Sevan Highway into Ravine
On August 1, at 15:55, the Gegharkunik regional crisis management center received an alert that a vehicle had gone off the road near the traffic police checkpoint on the Yerevan-Sevan highway. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.
A firefighting and rescue team from the regional rescue division of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was found that at kilometer 51 of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, an "Opel Astra G" vehicle (driver: S. K., born in 1991) had veered off the roadway and slid about 3 meters into a ravine.
Before the rescuers arrived, the driver and a passenger, N. N. (born in 1994), managed to exit the vehicle with the help of locals and were transported to Sevan Hospital, where doctors assessed their health condition as satisfactory. Rescuers disconnected the vehicle's power supply, closed the gas cylinder valve, and assisted passenger V. A. (born in 1995) by transferring him to an ambulance.
