If the government cannot ensure the country's security, it must honestly admit it and step down, Vanyetsyan

If the government cannot ensure the country's security, it must honestly admit it and step down, said Arthur Vanyetsyan, the leader of the "Honorary Title" parliamentary group, in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.

He noted that if a bill is brought to the National Assembly that serves the interests of the people of the Republic of Armenia and the state interests of Armenia, they are ready and obliged to cooperate with the government and vote in favor of the bill.

"We do not consider any other option for cooperation with this government possible," he said.

Vanyetsyan emphasized that there will be no shortage of sharp speeches in this National Assembly.

Commenting on the strict control by the NSS (National Security Service) in the National Assembly, the former director of the NSS stated that security is very important and must be ensured without a doubt. He believes that the security measures required to enter the building of the National Assembly are sufficient.

"But to enter the inner chambers of the National Assembly, especially the hall of sessions, after passing through metal detectors, is simply ridiculous. Either this government wants to influence the nerves of the opposition in their own way, or they are simply terrified of the opposition," he said.

Vanyetsyan considers the restriction of journalists' movement in the National Assembly unacceptable.
