Pfizer and Moderna Raise Prices of COVID-19 Vaccines
The COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers Pfizer and Moderna have raised the price of a single dose of their vaccine for the European Union. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing excerpts from contracts it obtained.
According to the source, the American company Pfizer's vaccine now costs €19.5 per dose, up from the previous price of €15.5. Meanwhile, the vaccine from Moderna, owned by Armenian-American businessman Noubar Afeyan, now costs $25.5 per dose, an increase from the previous price of $22.6.
According to the American publication, the companies have declined to comment on changes in their pricing policy in the EU.
