A Parent at the Medal Ceremony Whose Story Many Do Not Know
Facebook user Armine Hayrapetyan wrote on her page: “This war has taken two sons from Arthur Tevosyan. Besides the boys, the Tevosyan family has no other children. Vahe (1999) and Davit (2001), the Tevosyan brothers, are from the village of Voskahat in the Echmiadzin region, and they were drafted a year apart. They served in the same unit and battalion— the older brother as a sniper and the younger brother as a machine gunner. When the battalion was preparing for the last combat mission, the commander urged Davit to stay, but he could not be convinced… Vahe and Davit were killed on the same day, October 11, 2020, along with the entire crew of the heroic 7th infantry battalion of the 3rd army corps of the Defense Army.

On July 28, 2021, Arthur Tevosyan received the posthumous “Battle Cross” medals for his sons, Vahe and Davit. He was the only one that day who approached the honor flags twice… twice—for two sons... Under the sound of the anthem, everyone stood in silence, and only with the words of the last stanza did the sobs of grieving mothers echo from different corners of the hall...
