Suren Khachatryan's House Searched: 'Joghourd'

'Joghourd' newspaper reports that law enforcement has searched the house of former Syunik governor Suren Khachatryan in connection with the gunfire incident in Goris. According to information received by 'Joghourd', the investigating body has issued a warrant for the arrest of the former governor's son, Tigran Khachatryan.

Essentially, a warrant is being issued for the second person involved in the gunfire case. As is known, the Investigative Committee of Armenia has submitted a proposal to the court to arrest the son of Syunik governor Melikset Poghosyan, Karen Poghosyan, which has been approved, making him a subject of search as well. They are looking for him, while his father continues to serve as a governor.

It is worth reminding that gunfire was heard late on the evening of July 14 in Goris, resulting in injuries to one of Suren Khachatryan's close associates, who was subsequently taken to Yerevan. At the center of the gunfire incident was Karen Poghosyan, the son of Syunik governor Melikset Poghosyan. Close associates of former governor Suren Khachatryan and current governor Melikset Poghosyan's son have had old grievances.
