Kindergarten Employee Accuses Director of Embezzlement, Director Claims Defamation
The police are preparing materials regarding the activities of Narine Gasparyan, the director of kindergarten No. 103 located in the 2nd micro-district of Nor Nork. The police's public relations department informed us that the materials were prepared based on a citizen's complaint, and a criminal case has been initiated under Article 179 of the Criminal Code for "Embezzlement or Misappropriation" and sent to the preliminary investigation body. Hraparak.am reports this.
An employee of the kindergarten, Armine Baghdasaryan, has filed a complaint against the director. She accuses the director of serious crimes, including bribery, coercion against employees during the pre-election phase, nepotism, and the misappropriation of food and household supplies allocated to the kindergarten. The employee reports that the director has constantly embezzled the food provided for children, stating, "She has taken it out of the kindergarten in large quantities with the help of her accomplices, who then place it in the trunk of the director's car."
“Flour in bags, sugar in bags, large quantities of household items, which she sells through her selected store with the help of her team. The children receive 40 grams of bread, while she gives 28 or 30 grams. A child asks for more bread, how can they say in the kitchen that there is no more? Previously, before the revolution, our kindergarten was not receiving economic goods like soap, napkins, and detergents; everything was going to the director's home. She has turned the kindergarten into a family business, employing her daughter Liana Hakobyan, her daughter's friend Tsovinar as a replacement caregiver, and the nurse works simultaneously as an administrator, caregiver, and cook. She placed her grandson's teacher Armine, who has no education, in a position to work as a caregiver. I have presented all the evidence to the police.
Before that, I had addressed the municipality, the district administration. They came under the pretext of inspections, entered her office, drank coffee, and left,” complains the employee. She states that for hiring or promotion, the director demands bribes, maintains fictitious positions to embezzle their salaries, and threatens to fire anyone who tries to raise concerns. The employee assures that she has the facts and has presented them to the Nor Nork police.
We also heard from kindergarten director Narine Gasparyan, who, upon hearing our questions, replied that she was at her lawyer Seda Safaryan's office and was preparing a lawsuit against the employee who defamed her. "I am already tired of her false words; this woman is slandering me, spreading lies; I am exhausted by these lies; she has already reached the pinnacle of defamation."
- Let’s clarify a few facts. Did you hire your daughter?
- Yes, I did; let's check everything thoroughly. I have no problem.
- Did you also hire your daughter's friend Tsovinar?
- She is not my daughter's friend. It is summer; everyone has gone on vacation. I hired her as a replacement employee. What wrong have I done?
- Does the nurse also work as an administrator, caregiver, and cook?
- Yes, she works at the kindergarten; the administrator and cook have gone on vacation, and she is helping in the kitchen, which is within her responsibilities.
- You say you are being defamed, but why are they doing it?
- She wanted to become a caregiver, and I refused her.
PS: By the time this material was ready, we learned that the kindergarten director had dismissed the employee Armine Baghdasaryan, who had filed a complaint against her. The official reason for the dismissal is unwarranted absence from work.
