Authorities Finally Start Working: New Decision on Gas Cylinder Installation

Drivers of vehicles operating with gas cylinders in Armenia will be required to hold a license for their operation. The newspaper "Jhohvorut" reports that mandatory licensing will be introduced for companies engaged in the installation of gas cylinders.

Armenian authorities have finally begun to address the installation of gas cylinder systems in vehicles powered by compressed natural and liquefied gas. Additionally, it has come to our attention that a procedure will be established for the installation of gas cylinder equipment and the periodic certification of the cylinders for vehicles operating on compressed natural and liquefied gas.

This draft decision was circulated yesterday by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure. Notably, gas filling stations will not have the right to refill cylinders without a certificate, nor if the certificate has expired, as it can be verified through an electronic database.

If cylinders do not meet the established requirements, their use will be prohibited. Violators will face administrative penalties.
