How Much Was Spent on the President's Visit Organization to Tokyo

It has been a week since the Summer Olympic Games commenced, in which Armenian athletes are participating. President Armen Sarkissian is also in Tokyo on a working visit. ArmDaily.am inquired with the president's office to clarify how much was spent on organizing the president's visit and where the funds were sourced.

In response to the media inquiry, the president's office informed that the majority of the expenses for Armen Sarkissian's work trip to Japan were covered by the International Olympic Committee, while the remaining amount was sourced from the state budget allocated to the President's Office.

"The accommodation and travel expenses of the delegation totaled 16.9 million drams. To save costs, President Sarkissian preferred using regular commercial flights instead of a government aircraft, which reduced travel expenses by around 7 times," the president's office disclosed.

It is worth noting that this year's Olympic Games are being held under strict restrictions, with only 950 people attending the opening ceremony at Tokyo's major sports arena.
