We Will Meet Soon: Statement from Ararat Mirzoyan's Advisor on His Resignation

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, has announced that he is terminating his duties as an advisor to the National Assembly from today. This was stated by Davit Karapetyan on his Facebook page.

He particularly noted, “Since January 2019, I have undertaken the coordination of several programs aimed at reinforcing the institutional needs of the parliament. I will present several reports regarding accomplished and ongoing works today and in the coming days.”

”I want to express my gratitude to all my colleagues in the National Assembly's staff. We have shared numerous good and tough days together - argued, been upset, rejoiced, celebrated, and grieved, but one thing is evident: the family, workplace relationships, and the effective work that you execute ensures the strength of Armenia's democracy and sovereignty.”

“I thank all the deputies of the 7th convocation of the National Assembly with whom I have had the fortune to work during one of the most complex and challenging times in the history of the Republic of Armenia. Regardless of party affiliation, many of you have formed collegial and close relationships, which enabled effective work during the 7th convocation.”

“Most of you, through your work, often in an unseen manner, have proven that you have the right to be called people's deputies. I am glad to have met many of you and worked with you.”

“I extend my thanks to all other state agencies with which we have worked day and night for the Republic of Armenia. To the staff of the Government, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Health, Police, NSS, Security Council, Territorial Administration, local self-governments, Yerevan City Hall, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, the First Channel, and all other agencies - thank you.”

“I also thank our international partners with whom we have implemented several programs aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the National Assembly. These programs will undoubtedly continue and be completed.”

“Thank you to the representatives of Armenia's civil society. We have always felt your breath and oversight; we have not taken offense to criticism, and we have organized numerous effective discussions.”

“I apologize for mistakes and omissions, for unfulfilled programs and unfinished initiatives, but I want you to be assured that I have always approached my work with a sense of responsibility and an awareness of the public interest.”

“I thank the Speaker of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, for his trust, as well as my colleagues in the speaker's office for their effective work and good friendship. I wish success to the 8th convocation of the National Assembly and a fruitful job to the new team of the speaker's staff. We will meet soon.”
