We Can Reach Tbilisi in 2-3 Hours: Vahan Kerobyan
The heads of the ministries of economics of Armenia and Georgia have discussed the possibility of launching a high-speed train that would allow travel from Yerevan to Tbilisi in 2-3 hours. This information was reported by Vahan Kerobyan, the acting Minister of Economy of Armenia, in a post on Facebook, noting that its launch would contribute to the development of tourism.
During his visit to Georgia, Kerobyan met with Natela Turnava, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. He stated, “Our countries have relatively small markets individually, but together they can become far more attractive in the region. In this context, we have discussed a number of joint projects in the fields of infrastructure, tourism, railways, and energy.”
He also mentioned that they addressed the prospects for developing wine tourism between the two countries. During the visit, Kerobyan also met with Levan Davitashvili, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, and Irakli Karseladze, the Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure. Discussions were held with Georgian partners on issues related to regional cooperation and transit transportation through Georgia.
