How Much Money Was Spent on Armen Sarkissian's Visit to Japan
During his working visit to Japan, President Armen Sarkissian was accompanied by Emil Tarasyan, the head of the Presidential Administration, presidential advisor Ruben Karapetyan, and staff members from the Public Relations Department, including photographer David Hakobyan, operator Vardan Petrosyan, and protocol officer Arman Abrahamyan, as reported by the Presidential Administration in response to Aysor.am's written inquiry.
“Most of the accommodation costs in Japan were covered by the International Olympic Committee. An expenditure of 16.9 million drams was incurred from the funds allocated to the Presidential Administration by the state budget for the other part of the delegation’s accommodation expenses as well as for travel expenses,” the administration noted.
To save costs, President Sarkissian opted for regular commercial flights instead of a government aircraft, which reduced travel expenses by about seven times. Regarding the per diem, the presidential office stated that it is paid in accordance with the standards established for each country as per the December 29, 2005, government decision N 2335-N.
