Heavy Negotiations Expected in Moscow, Our Statehood is at Risk: Zohrebyan Invites Pashinyan to Parliament
Heavy negotiations are expected in Moscow in the near future, announced independent MP Naira Zohrebyan during an extraordinary session of the National Assembly. She stated, “I understand that the ‘action’ of this extraordinary session is the amendment to the Criminal Code that suggests the criminalization of insults. I realize why it is being done, because there will be no shortage of insults in the new parliament; I leave that to the mutual ‘action’ conflict between the majority and the new opposition,” she said.
Zohrebyan declared that after this extraordinary session, another session of the National Assembly should be convened, inviting Nikol Pashinyan, the leaders of the Armed Forces, and the Ministry of Defense to discuss the current situation. “Negotiations are expected soon; I do not want a repeat of the situation before and after the 44-day war, where no one knew anything. Now, it is truly time for unified solutions and to respond to the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem,” the MP emphasized.
She noted that there will still be time to criminalize insults. “Our statehood is at risk, our borders are at risk, and every day Azerbaijan violates all written and verbal agreements,” Zohrebyan stated.
