Boy Claims Responsibility for Fatal Accident, Suspicion Arises That Driver Was a Girl
On July 28, a fatal hit-and-run incident occurred in front of the "Lusabats" restaurant complex on the Yerevan-Sevan highway, leading to a criminal case being initiated under Article 242, part 2 of the RA Criminal Code, as reported by Shamshyan.com.
The deceased has been identified as 68-year-old Margo Sargsyan, a resident of Kotayk Province. On the same day, 28-year-old Norik Ohanyan approached the police at the scene and claimed responsibility for the accident. Subsequently, the Kotayk police, led by the head of the juvenile affairs division, Galustyan, took him to the investigative department.
According to sources, investigators have operational data suggesting that he may not have been the driver; rather, it is alleged that the motorist was a young girl. Currently, police and investigators are working to determine the truth of Mr. Ohanyan's claim.
