16 Days Have Passed Without Information on the Missing Unarmed Soldiers from Syunik
16 days have passed since the search for the missing soldiers from Syunik began, but efforts remain fruitless. The whereabouts of unarmed soldiers Artur Nalbandyan and driver Aramayis Torozyan, who got lost due to fog on the morning of July 14, continue to be unknown.
According to the Ministry of Defense (MoD) cited by "Factinfo," there is still no information about the soldiers, and the search operations are ongoing. It is also known that the Russian side is participating in the search for the unarmed soldiers.
The likelihood of them being on the Azerbaijani side has been discussed from the very first day. Earlier reports indicated that on the morning of July 14, during foggy conditions, contact was lost with soldier Artur Nalbandyan and driver Aramayis Torozyan while they were performing official duties with a military vehicle from the Armenian Armed Forces' Unit N stationed in the southeastern direction of the Republic of Armenia.
The MoD has officially stated that they were unarmed and mentioned that the possibility of them being on the Azerbaijani side is also being considered.
