We Are Paying with Lives at the Border, While Salaries Are Being Increased in the City Hall: 'Zhoghovourd'
According to 'Zhoghovourd' newspaper, despite the tension at the border and the recent casualties, an extraordinary session will be held today at the Yerevan City Hall, where the agenda includes a proposal to increase the salaries of city hall employees.
That is, at this juncture and through an extraordinary session, the city hall has decided to raise salaries and make changes to the staffing table. The proposal suggests increasing the salaries of approximately 2,000 employees.
The initiator of the proposal is the 'My Step' faction. According to the proposal, salaries will increase by an average of about 100%, and the mayor will earn more than the prime minister, with a salary increase from 575,000 to 1,320,000 AMD.
The first deputy mayor's salary will rise from 478,000 to 1,020,000, while the salaries of the other three deputies will go from 443,000 to 952,000. The Chief Architect of Yerevan will receive the same salary.
Additionally, the eight advisors of Mayor Marutyan, currently earning 358,000 AMD per month, will see their salaries increase to 578,000, while the mayor's aides will see their salaries go from 298,000 to 544,000.
The salaries of the mayor's press secretary and the head of the staff will also increase by the same percentage, with the staff head earning 952,000 AMD instead of the previous 382,000. The salaries of department heads, district heads, and their deputies will also increase by more than 100%, with increases from 400,000 to 850,000, and from 346,000 to 510,000.
