Symbolic Mosaic Representing Unified Armenia and Artsakh Removed from Mashtots Avenue

The Director of the Armenian Genocide Memorial and Institute, historian Hayk Demoyan, wrote on his Facebook page: "Today, during an extraordinary session of the council, a decision was made to increase the salaries of employees of the Yerevan City Hall and administrative districts. Just today, as a result of the diligent and tireless work of city hall employees, the symbolic mosaic representing the unified Republic of Armenia and Artsakh was dismantled under the guise of cleaning work at the beginning of Mashtots Avenue. The area was also showered well, signaling the imminent transfer of communications to Azerbaijan… We demand that the Yerevan City Hall promptly restore the mosaic, three times larger in size."
