Negotiations Are Secretive, Just Like Everything Else: 'Haylure'
'Haylure' newspaper reports that suddenly it became clear to the public yesterday that negotiations regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani border situation are to be held in Moscow. The situation follows the initiation of aggressive actions by the Azerbaijani side the night before, resulting in three Armenian casualties and four injuries.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, we find the following excerpt: 'The adversary has launched aggressive military actions against the borders of the Republic of Armenia from Sotk to the upper Shorja area ahead of the negotiations planned in the capital of the Russian Federation, Moscow,' states the MoD's announcement.
Interestingly, until this point, there was no information regarding any forthcoming negotiations in Moscow. Later, it became clear that a ceasefire is being declared at the suggestion of the Russian side, yet again, there was no information on the conditions of the ceasefire or what promises might be involved.
Representatives of the authorities are more than silent on this matter. Amidst the backdrop of heightened border tensions, there were no statements from Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan yesterday, whereas he would previously rush to go live or make a post during any event, calling for unity. Not only was he silent, but his party members remained quiet as well.
'Haylure' tried to reach his spokesperson, Mane Gevorgyan, but the calls went unanswered. The authorities have once again adopted the option of making moves under the veil of secrecy.
