Iran Ready to Mediate Armenian-Azerbaijani Negotiations, Says Khatibzadeh

Iran is ready to mediate Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations. This statement was made by Saeed Khatibzadeh, the official representative of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The Foreign Ministry representative announced Iran's willingness to provide any assistance in establishing stable peace in the region,” the ministry's press service reports.

Khatibzadeh also noted that both countries need to cease escalations and clashes as soon as possible and reach a ceasefire in the South Caucasus.

“Khatibzadeh expressed concern over the continuation of the border conflict between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces and expressed regret over the casualties and injuries,” the statement said.

It should be noted that on July 28, at around 03:40, Azerbaijani armed forces units launched an attack on Armenian positions located in the northeast direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. As a result of the hostilities that erupted following the attack initiated by Azerbaijani armed forces, the Armenian side suffered three fatalities, and four servicemen were wounded.
