Foreign Ministry Clarifies the Moscow Negotiations Mentioned in the Ministry of Defense's Recent Statement
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Defense reported that the adversary initiated preemptive combat operations along the borders of Armenia ahead of negotiations scheduled to take place in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation. However, it was not clarified what specific negotiations were planned in Moscow that were deemed so significant that they preceded unprecedented clashes in Gegharkunik, which have occurred after the 44-day war, and not prior or following it.
In an effort to obtain clarification regarding these Moscow negotiations, ArmDaily contacted the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who suggested that a written inquiry be sent. The media outlet has published a response from Serob Bejanian, the head of the Ministry's Department for Relations with Media and Public Diplomacy.
According to this response, Armenian representatives in Moscow have had regular working meetings and discussions with their counterparts from the relevant Russian authorities. "We also inform that meetings and discussions between the Armenian and Russian sides at various levels are periodic and are determined by the richness of bilateral agendas across different directions," the statement reads.
