Azerbaijan Must Communicate Through Armenia to Nakhchivan, Georgia, and Iran - Nikol Pashinyan
During the government meeting today, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that the situation along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is not stabilizing.
"Azerbaijan continues to exercise aggressive rhetoric and actions while ignoring all proposals from the international community aimed at a political and long-term resolution of the situation," he stated.
According to Pashinyan, Azerbaijan is trying to undermine any opportunity for dialogue by discrediting the trilateral statements of November 9 and January 11.
The Acting Prime Minister noted that Azerbaijan is consistently taking actions to discredit the topic of opening regional communications. "Azerbaijan continues to point out some corridor issues by specifying certain routes and directions. I have repeatedly said - Armenia has not discussed, is not discussing, and will not discuss any issues based on the corridor logic," Pashinyan said.
He emphasized that all transport and economic communications in the region should be opened. "Just as Armenia should communicate through Azerbaijan to Russia, Central Asia, and Iran, Azerbaijan should communicate through Armenia to Nakhchivan, Georgia, and Iran. To implement this plan, customs points should be established at the relevant points of the border," Pashinyan added.
