Armed Intrusion at Loan Company, Suspects Demand Money
On July 29, 2021, at approximately 13:30, individuals suspected of committing a crime intruded into the "Ji Ey" loan disbursement and currency exchange office located on Amiryan Street in Yerevan. They threatened an employee with a combat grenade, classified as a weapon, demanding money under the threat of life and health endangerment.
The Investigative Committee reports that upon encountering resistance from the employee, the suspects fled the scene. Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated at the Investigative Division of the Center and Norq-Marash Administrative Districts under Article 175, Part 2, Clauses 1 and 4, and Article 235, Part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. The company and the employee have been recognized as victims.
During the preliminary investigation, urgent investigative and other procedural actions have been carried out, including an examination of the crime scene where a mask worn by one of the suspects and the combat grenade were discovered. Several individuals have been interrogated, including the victim and witnesses. A forensic examination has been appointed to clarify significant circumstances related to the criminal case. The investigation is ongoing.
Measures are being undertaken to identify, locate, and present the suspects to the prosecutorial body while verifying the details outlined in testimonies to ensure an objective and comprehensive investigation. Instructions have been given to the investigation body.
