3.6 Magnitude Earthquake 3 km Northeast of Shorja Village
On July 29, at 21:09 local time (17:09 GMT), a 3.6 magnitude earthquake was registered by the seismic protection service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia. The epicenter was located at a geographical coordinate of 40.52° North latitude and 45.30° East longitude, 3 km northeast of Shorja village in the Gegharkunik region, with a depth of 10 km.
The intensity of the underground tremors in the epicentral zone was reported to be 4-5 points. The earthquake was felt in the towns of Sevan, Gavar, and Chambarak in the Gegharkunik region, with a magnitude of 3 points, and in the village of Shoghakat with a magnitude of 4 points. Additionally, it was felt in the city of Abovyan in the Kotayk region with a magnitude of 2 points, as well as in the village of Aygedzor in the Tavush region with a magnitude of 2 points.
