We Must Be Prepared for All Possible Scenarios of Situation Development: Tigran Abrahamyan

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia has reported that negotiations were planned in Moscow, yet Azerbaijan has launched attacks in various areas along the border ahead of these talks, according to Tigran Abrahamyan, head of the 'Henaket' analytical center and a member of parliament elected from the 'Honorary' alliance.

"The adversary has initiated offensive military actions on the borders of the Republic of Armenia from Sotk to Upper Shorzha ahead of the planned negotiations in the capital of the Russian Federation, Moscow," the defense ministry's release states.

This is indeed an important detail to understand Azerbaijan's objectives and the steps it is prepared to take,” he noted.

According to Abrahamyan, it appears that there is a document on the negotiation table, and in order to achieve its desired outcome, Azerbaijan has resorted to its well-known toolkit: border tensions, provocations, local battles, and so forth.

“Given the situation along various sections of the border in the last week and the package of issues under negotiation, it is reasonable to assume that the Armenian Armed Forces have implemented additional measures aimed at strengthening the border, and these battles were expected within the overall trend. I am not yet discussing intelligence, analysis of the geopolitical situation, and other factors that may indicate the further course of events,” Abrahamyan emphasized. “We must be prepared for all possible scenarios of situation development and consider undertaking additional measures to ensure the security of the country.”
