US Armenian Advocacy Committee Calls for Immediate Halt to US Military Aid to Azerbaijan
This morning, against the backdrop of military actions along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border, the US Armenian Advocacy Committee has once again appealed to Congress, urging an immediate cessation of US military assistance to Azerbaijan.
"Given Azerbaijan's renewed attacks on Armenia this morning, it is more necessary than ever for Congress to immediately stop US military aid to the Aliyev regime, which is characterized by its brutality, racism, and oil wealth," the relevant statement read.
It is important to note that earlier today, the Armenian Minister of Defense released a statement informing that the adversary has initiated preemptive military actions against the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia, from Sotk to the Upper Shorzha region, ahead of negotiations expected to take place in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation. Armed confrontations have begun, and intense exchanges of fire have occurred.
According to updated information, as a result of provocations from the Azerbaijani armed forces on July 28, the exact number of casualties on the Armenian side is four wounded and three fatalities.
As of 1:00 PM, the situation in the Gegharkunik region of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is stable, and the ceasefire agreement is being largely adhered to. The situation in other parts of the border remains relatively calm.
