It Is Unacceptable to Emphasize the Phrase 'Territory of Artsakh' by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: GOP Statement

The third president of the Republic of Armenia and leader of the Republican Party, Serge Sarkisian, chaired a regular meeting of the GOP Executive Body today, on July 29. This information was provided by the GOP Executive Body.

During the meeting, the situation at Armenia’s eastern borders and in the Nakhchivan region was discussed, with assessments already made in a joint statement by two opposition alliances.

It was instructed to properly inform the party's international partners regarding the sharp increase in regional tensions and the military actions unleashed by the Azerbaijani armed forces.

The emphasis on the phrase 'Territory of Artsakh' by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, instead of using 'Republic of Artsakh,' was deemed unacceptable.

Questions regarding the upcoming activities of the party's nominated deputies for the first session of the National Assembly were reported.

The creation and full operation of a permanent commission in the National Assembly on issues related to Artsakh was highlighted as a priority.
