Geghamasar Head Went to NSS, Deputy Was Not Informed: Media

Vardan Margaryan, the deputy mayor of the Geghamasar community, stated in an interview with "Pastinfo" that he has no information regarding the community leader's presence at the National Security Service (NSS). According to media reports, Hakob Avetyan is currently at the NSS.

“We are completely unaware that he is at the NSS; there is no such thing. Avetyan was in the community in the morning, went out for community visits, and we have not been in touch to find out where he is,” said Margaryan.

“Pastinfo” attempted to confirm the information by reaching out to the NSS, but the calls went unanswered. Margaryan added that the situation in the community is normal, and they are currently in the Kuts settlement.

“Everything is normal, it’s calm; there are no extraordinary incidents. We haven’t heard any gunfire here; it has been in the Sotk settlement, maybe there were shots in the mountains, but we haven’t heard anything. We can’t ascend to the frontline, and there’s no need for that at the moment, but it’s calm. A lot of people in the community are not even aware of what has happened,” he noted.

Due to fog, they are unable to monitor movement from the Azerbaijani side, which is located in the heights of Kuts.

After all this, in a conversation with Aysor.am, Sotk village head Hakob Avetyan stated that he had left the NSS and had been invited there to answer a few questions.

When asked what questions were posed, Avetyan declined to answer. “Everything is normal; there are no issues,” said Avetyan. When asked if it is normal to be taken to the NSS in such a tense situation, the Sotk village head replied, “Well, everyone can give their interpretation.”
