US State Department Advises Citizens to Avoid Travel to Armenia and Artsakh

The US State Department has urged its citizens to avoid traveling to Armenia and Artsakh. In a statement released by the department, it is noted that the risk of coronavirus infection in Armenia has risen to a third level.

Moreover, visits to Nagorno-Karabakh are discouraged due to the armed conflict ongoing in the region, where gunfire has occurred and there have been casualties.

The State Department advises against traveling near the Line of Contact and the international borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as the US government cannot offer emergency assistance to its citizens in Nagorno-Karabakh due to restrictions on government personnel visiting the area.
