A few months ago, in collaboration with experts from the ‘Armenian Center for American Studies,’ we published an article predicting the inevitable proactive response of the American administration against the controversial ‘Belt and Road’ initiative.

About a month ago, initiated by Joe Biden and with substantial support from the G7 countries, the launch of the new project was announced. ‘B3W’ is poised to become a serious competitor to the ‘Belt and Road’ initiative. While China is projecting an investment of 4-8 trillion dollars into its initiative, intending to complete the project by 2049, the G7’s project is valued at 40 trillion with a shorter investment timeline. This grants the ‘B3W’ initiative a significant competitive advantage, considering the factor of time. This, in turn, indicates intense competition for influence in Central Asia, the Middle East, the South Caucasus, Europe, and other regions.
For Armenia, this marks a new phase of both opportunity and challenge. Pragmatic and skilful diplomacy is essential, along with a delicate strategy to leverage the contradictions and common interests of global superpowers, aiming for maximum benefit and minimal losses. Time will reveal how successful we will be in this endeavor.”
