Sargis Grigoryan, who died from gunfire, was a participant in the 44-day war; he spoke with his parents yesterday
On the eve, Sargis Grigoryan, a conscript soldier from Military Unit N of the Artsakh Defense Army, was shot dead. He was from the village of Myasnikyan in the Ararat Province. Grigoryan was a participant in the 44-day war and was conscripted into the army in August 2020. This was reported by Tigran Baghdasaryan, the head of the Myasnikyan community, in a conversation with NEWS.am.
Sargis was the eldest son in his family, having one brother and one sister. According to the community leader, his family is engaged in agriculture. The village mayor mentioned that the last time Sargis spoke with his parents was yesterday, and they noticed nothing unusual.
Earlier reports stated that on July 26 at approximately 22:26, during his service, Sargis Zhirayr Grigoryan, a conscript soldier from Military Unit N, fatally shot himself in the left side of his chest with an AK-type rifle while stationed at a fire position.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Military Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia under Article 360.1, Part 2, Point 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and an investigation is underway. Measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances surrounding the soldier's death and to conduct an objective and comprehensive investigation.
