Covid Unit Reopened at Mikayelyan Hospital Due to Increase in Cases
The Covid unit at Mikayelyan University Hospital has been reopened today, consisting of around 140 beds, which had been closed since June 15. This was announced by Armen Muradyan, the rector of Yerevan State Medical University, on his Facebook page.
“Considering the increase in coronavirus infection rates and the heavy workload in intensive care units, Covid patient care will again be provided at Mikayelyan University Hospital in a separate building with around 140 beds and a separate entrance. The facility has been modernized and is operating in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Armenia. The university’s leading specialists ensure high quality and accessibility of medical care,” he said.
“We once again ask everyone to adhere to all anti-epidemic rules and urgently get VACCINATED… Remember, only together can we break the chain of Covid-19 transmission. Please assist our healthcare workers who are working day and night to avoid dangerous and severe consequences,” he added.
