Circumstances of Soldier Sargis Grigoryan's Death Under Investigation; Criminal Case Opened

On July 26, 2021, at approximately 22:26, conscript soldier Sargis Zhirayri Grigoryan sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the left side of his chest at the firing position of Military Unit N of the Defense Army.

In connection with the incident, the Third Garrison Investigation Department of the Military Investigative Main Department of the Republic of Armenia's Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case based on the signs of a crime as defined in part 2 of Article 360.1 of the RA Criminal Code, and a preliminary investigation is underway.

Measures are being taken to clarify the circumstances surrounding the soldier's death and to conduct a comprehensive and objective investigation.
