Drugs Found in Goris Penitentiary Amid Waste Collection
On July 25, during a routine waste collection and sanitation process at the Goris Penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, around 5:30 PM, an inmate, identified as S. Y., reported to a facility staff member that he had accidentally thrown away important phone numbers and bank account details that were contained in a "CAMEL" cigarette box, requesting that they be retrieved and returned to him.
His behavior raised suspicion among the staff, leading them to inspect the waste removed from his cell. Upon examination, they discovered substances resembling marijuana, separated into two distinct masses weighing 1.03 and 1.23 grams, found inside the "CAMEL" cigarette box.
An investigation is underway regarding this incident, and a forensic chemical examination has been commissioned.
