Charges Filed Against Two Armenian Bloggers in Azerbaijan
Charges against two Armenian bloggers, Davit Tigrani Davtyan and Gevorg Rubeni Sujyan, have been filed in Azerbaijan amid a continuing fabricated judicial process. According to Tert.am, cited by apa.az, an investigation has been announced at the Baku Serious Crimes Court.
The prosecutor read out a fabricated indictment conclusion, claiming that "the accused illegally crossed the border of Azerbaijan, collected military information, transmitted it to the Armenian special services, and engaged in espionage."
The charges are based on Articles 228 (illegal possession of weapons), 276 (espionage), 279 (creation of armed formations or groups contrary to legislation), and 318 (illegal crossing of the state border) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.
The judge stated that if the charges are proven during the judicial proceedings, the accused could face up to 15 years of imprisonment.
