Body of Woman Found Near Public Beach of Lake Sevan

A tragic incident occurred today, July 26, in the Gegharkunik region. Around 2:00 PM, a report was received at the Sevan police department indicating that a woman's body was found on the shore near the public beach of Lake Sevan.

According to shamshyan.com, Arthur Mkrtchyan, the head of the Gegharkunik regional police department, and Surik Janikyan, the head of the Sevan police department, arrived promptly at the scene. Also present were a team from the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of the Armenian Investigative Committee, led by senior investigator Levon Nazaryan.

Police and investigators discovered the body of a woman aged approximately 60-65 years. According to the preliminary conclusion of the forensic expert, no signs of violence were detected on the body upon external examination.

Investigator Levon Nazaryan is preparing materials regarding the incident, while police and the investigative department are working to determine the identity of the deceased.
