NSS Reserve Officers' Association Joins Signatures Campaign Organized by Syunik Mayors

The NSS Reserve Officers' Association is joining the signatures campaign organized by the mayors of Syunik. This was reported on the Facebook page of the NSS Reserve Officers' Association.

“For the second day, a signature campaign has started on Northern Avenue demanding the immediate release of Goris and Kajaran mayors Arush Arushanyan and Manvel Paramazyan, former Meghri mayor Mikitar Zakaryan, Sisian mayor Artur Sargsyan, and head of the security department of ZPMC Aram Gasparyan from imprisonment. No matter how much we try to avoid labeling, the actions against these individuals cannot be seen as anything other than a manifestation of political retribution, especially since they almost immediately followed the extraordinary parliamentary elections and the events that preceded them.

Mr. Prime Minister, as much as the situation afflicting the country requires a demonstration of rationality in cooperation with the opposition, the factual power is yours, and therefore, the responsibility to progress is yours as well. You simply must regulate the internal political atmosphere, unite the public, and organize resistance to external threats. We join the signature campaign and believe that under conditions where alternative restrictive measures unrelated to imprisonment are applied, it is possible to ensure a fair and transparent trial for the aforementioned individuals in the future,” they stated on the Facebook page.
