Hayk Marutyan Will Not Be Changed: Authorities Have Found a Temporary Solution
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that the question of Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan's future remains under discussion. Although Nikol Pashinyan wants to rid himself of Marutyan as soon as possible, the path to new elections is considered risky, and they do not wish to express a vote of no confidence through the council, as they lack a suitable candidate on their list.
Thus, the authorities have found a temporary solution. Interestingly, they are very inventive and quick to find solutions regarding issues that serve their interests.
According to our information, it has been decided that for the time being, they will not change Hayk Marutyan. However, the appointment of district leaders and other staffing issues will be decided by Deputy Prime Minister Suren Papikyan. This arrangement will last until the time of the new elections, at which point Marutyan will leave naturally.
