Strange Activity Around Armenia: 'Joghourt'

According to the newspaper 'Joghourt', acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Notably, this phone call occurred two days after a meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. According to the official statement from the Kremlin, the call was initiated by the Armenian side; however, there is no mention of this in the official communication from the RA government.

The government stated that the parties discussed a wide range of issues concerning the region and mutual interests. They referred to the implementation of agreements reached among the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan, and the President of Russia, particularly concerning the return of prisoners and the resumption of regional transportation routes.

According to official Yerevan, Pashinyan emphasized Russia's key role in maintaining peace and stability. Both sides stressed the importance of the activities of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group. There was no mention of the phone call occurring two days after the meeting with Aliyev, initiated by the Armenian side. The Kremlin's communication did not include such detailed information; it only stated that the two sides discussed mutual interest without specifying the Minsk Group format or the return of prisoners.

Against the backdrop of border tensions, the meetings and conversations of the President of the Russian Federation with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan are quite noteworthy, especially considering the reports of intensified demarcation work, the deployment of Russian border guards, and the handover of enclaves. It seems that decisions regarding Armenia's fate are being made outside of it, without consulting us.
