iPhone Supplier Faces Threats Amid Flooding at Factory
A severe flood in central China has targeted the main factory for iPhone smartphone production, located in Zhengzhou city, Henan province, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The facility has reportedly suffered significant damage from the natural disaster, experiencing power outages and water inundation in the compound. As a result, many workers have been allowed to leave the factory due to the impossibility of continuing operations.
The factory is owned by Taiwan's Foxconn company. The press service announced that an emergency plan was established during the flood to mitigate the disaster's impact. A representative insists that the incident will not affect workflow and future supply chains in any way.
